A special meeting of community leaders was called by The Good Community Committee on October 5th, 2000. Invited as guest speaker was Dr. Mike Carlie, a sociologist/criminologist and social researcher from Missouri State University who, from 1998 through 2001, conducted field research on gangs throughout the United States and several other countries.
