Purpose and Objectives

  • To provide leadership in continuing a community-wide inquiry into the status of our community as a whole, and the quality of life available to the people of Springfield; to keep the vision of, and hope for, the good community constantly in focus for the whole community.

  • To help foster a community conversation on possible remedies for the problems confronting the community, including such issues as violence and the nurture of our children, and to mobilize a community-wide response to these problems.

  • To continue the search for ways to improve our private lives by improving the community, and to encourage cooperative efforts of the public and private sectors.

  • To support the many efforts already underway, and new initiatives which arise in the future, to create and sustain community/civic well-being.
